Advocacy
The Nova Scotia SPCA Advocacy Committee was formed in January 2009. The committee's functions include:
- Researching animal abuse and cruelty issues in the province to inform position statements.
- Working closely with the Policy Committee on position statements.
- Paying attention to news and bulletins for upcoming events involving animals in the province.
- Drafting letters to the editor and to other organizations.
- Working closely with the Public Relations Committee on public statements.
- Working closely with the Education Committee on educating the public about systemic animal abuse.
- Coordinating with other local advocacy organizations.
