Proposed amendments to the Animal Protection Act to be presented today

Nova Scotia (November 8, 2011) –– The Department of Agriculture has advised the Nova Scotia SPCA that a number of proposed amendments provided by the Society to the Department have been incorporated into a new Bill that will be presented to the Legislature today at 1 pm.
The amendments include some housekeeping changes which provide for technical clarifications. These amendments are intended to improve the functioning of the Act.
"We look forward to seeing the Bill and are pleased with the Department of Agriculture's attention to our requests for improvements," said Executive Director Kristin Williams of the Nova Scotia SPCA.
