Nova Scotia SPCA Urges Party Leaders to Make the Prevention of Animal Cruelty a Priority

On May 21, 2009, the Board of Directors of the Nova Scotia SPCA issued letters to the leaders of the Progressive Conservative, Liberal, and NDP parties voicing our requests that the proclamation of the new animal crueltly legislation, with associated regulations, and increased, on-going funding for cruelty investigation costs be made made a priority for the party that takes power after the June 9th election. The Nova Scotia SPCA is tasked under provincial legislation to enforce Nova Scotia's anti-cruelty laws.

The Nova Scotia SPCA urges its members and all residents concerned about animal welfare to make the candidates in their riding aware of how important these issues are to Nova Scotia voters.
