Rules

Photographs

• Colour photographs are required
• Must be a minimum of 300 dpi or 2400 x 3000 pixels in JPEG (JPG) or TIFF (TIF) format so that they will produce a high quality 8x10 image
• Photos should be in a landscape format so that they are a minimum of 2400 pixels high and 3000 pixels wide
• The image must be sharp and in focus
• No people, pets only
• Maximum of three pets per photo
• Only photographs of companion animals will be selected.
• All animals must be depicted in a humane and dignified manner.
• Polaroid and professional photographs are not accepted.
• Hard copy/printed photographs will be accepted
  • Must be a professional print quality and either 4" x 6" or 8" x 10"
  • Please do not staple, paperclip, or write on photos
  • No photographs will be returned
• Do not print digital photos and submit the printed version, email the digital instead
• If hard copy, do not scan the photo yourself
• Images taken with cell phones will not be accepted
• Cropping of the photo background may occur to ensure best fit
• All photos become property of the Nova Scotia SPCA for promotional purposes to benefit homeless pets in our community.
• You may enter multiple times for multiple pets
• Only the owner of the pets may enter the pets in the contest.
• Only winners will be posted.

Submitting

• In the body of your email include your full name (as it appears on your entry form) contact phone number, pet's name and be sure your file name includes you and your pets names. (ie. Jane Doe_Patches.JPG)
• If you are unable to email your photos as an attachment you may put them on a CD and mail the CD to us.
• Please list your pet's name, breed/species, favourite hobby or most endearing trait.
• Must be 18 years or older to enter

Please send us your best pet photos showcasing your pet's good looks and charming personality. We want to see your pet living the good life, from lounging in sunbeams to enjoying the great outdoors.

Conditions, etc.

• By submitting this information, the photo and entry form serves as a release for the Nova Scotia SPCA to use the pet's name and photo in Nova Scotia SPCA print products, it's website and to promote the NS SPCA.
• Entries: Fees for approved and verified photos entries are non-cancellable and non-refundable.
• Nova Scotia SPCA reserves the right to modify these rules without prior notification
• All entries will be blind judged by Nova Scotia SPCA staff
• Participation: By participating entrants agree to be bound by these Official Rules and the decisions of the Nova Scotia SPCA. The Nova Scotia SPCA reserves the right to disqualify persons found tampering with or otherwise abusing any aspect of this contest as solely determined by the Nova Scotia SPCA.
• The Nova Scotia SPCA will not be responsible for incomplete, lost, late, postage due, misdirected or illegible entries, or for failure to receive entries due to transmission failures, or technical failures of any kind, including, without limitation malfunctioning of any networks, hardware or software, whether originating with the sender or the Nova Scotia SPCA

All usable photos submitted will be included on a collage page in the calendar.
