The LaBaie Branch is a foster-based Branch that services the Francophone municipality of Clare. It was formed in 2005 and hopes to open a shelter in the near future.La Baie Branch
The La Baie SPCA currently only services the Municipality of Clare.
La Baie SPCA does: rescue, care for and find homes for abandoned or distressed domestic animals.
La Baie SPCA does NOT: handle feral (non-approachable, wild) cats; remove dead animals; supply animals for scientific research; take action in animal annoyance cases; or intervene in cases involving legal action. Cases of cruelty or neglect of household pets are investigated by the Nova Scotia SPCA Provincial Chief Investigative Officer and/or special constables authorized under the Nova Scotia Animal Protection Act.
