Organization StructureThe Nova Scotia SPCA has the privilege of being the high-level governance body for all SPCAs in Nova Scotia, as well as the agency responsible for cruelty investigation province-wide. This structure enables the Nova Scotia SPCA to have a positive impact on the lives of animals across the province through standardized policies and programs and collaborative initiatives. The Nova Scotia SPCA is managed by an Executive Director and governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Society operations includes: Humane Education, Advocacy, Provincial Cruelty Investigations, Finance, Fund Development, Animal Care, Policy, Membership, Public Affairs, Human Resources and Marketing. The Nova Scotia SPCA has indirect oversight responsibility for a network of ten financially independent Branch societies across Nova Scotia, and provides support to these Branches as needed to enable them to fulfill their mandates and meet provincial policies and standards.
